Software Defined Automation Achieves SOC 2 Type 2 Certification
Independent, Third-Party Audit Validates Company Consistently Complies With Security Policies and Requirements to Protect Its Customers
Software Defined Automation today announced it successfully completed the Service Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type 2 audit, which validates the company’s adherence to the highest standards for security. The company’s compliance reinforces its dedication to providing a secure, reliable solution for its customers and affirms its ability to protect sensitive customer data against unauthorized access, maintain the availability of its systems, and ensure data integrity.
Software Defined Automation provides end-to-end Industrial DevOps for automation engineers to simplify programmable logic controller (PLCs) management and development, increase factory uptime, and improve OT security. The comprehensive, integrated solution offers automated backup, PLC code version control, browser-based engineering, secure remote access, and AI-generated code documentation, and virtual PLC management.
“At Henkel, we take the security of our OT environment very seriously, and with Software Defined Automation, we are confident that remote maintenance and recovery processes can be strengthened,” said Dr. Stefan Bonekamp, Head of OT Security, Henkel AG & Co. KGaA.
“Trust and security are two of our guiding principles,” Software Defined Automation Founder and CEO Josef Waltl said. “Achieving SOC 2 Type 2 compliance confirms our commitment to ensuring our security posture and provides customers with the confidence that required safeguards are in place to protect their data.”
SOC 2 is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Its audit verifies Software Defined Automation’s internal controls, policies, and processes conform to stringent security and operational standards and demonstrates the effectiveness of its controls relevant to SOC 2 trust services criteria for security, availability, and confidentiality. Certification attests to the company’s ability to implement critical procedures and prove compliance over time.
The SOC 2 audit was conducted by A-LIGN, a leading provider in cybersecurity compliance trusted by more than 4,000 global organizations to help mitigate cybersecurity risks.
